Favre in Purple?

Posted on: August 3, 2008 10:58 am

I would first like to state that I HATE the Packers, and maybe their fans even more.  That being said, as a life long Vikings fan I would LOVE if Favre became a Viking, and here is why.  Even though I hate the Packers, I have always respected Favre.  If you are a true fan of football there is no way that you couldn't respect him.  Now that Goodell has reinstated him that means he is not going to take the Packers "marketing deal".  The Packers now have a couple of uncomfortable decisions to make, which makes me happy.  They will either make him sit and backup Aaron Rodgers, which will make the organization look bad, or they trade him to their mortal enemy the Vikings.  How awesome would it be to see that.  All the Cheeseheads favorite player playing for their most hated rival.  That would have been like Cris Carter going to the Packers.

As far as what this will do for the Vikes I think this would make them a better team.  We all know T-Jack isn't that great of a QB.  Give him a few years to learn under Favre and he could be a serviceable NFL QB.  He is still young, so it won't kil him to sit a couple of years.  This would also help John David Booty's develpment as well.

I just absolutely love what is happening to the Packers right now.  It's Great!

Favre in Purple?

At first, I would have agreed with you. Think of how awesome the Monday Night game would have been...

But the more I think about it, the more I realize that I love watching Tarvaris Jackson play. It is just entertaining on every end. He's got speed, so hes a threat to run. He's got arm strength, so the deep ball is always an option. He's got accuracy, so the squeeze-between-two-defenders-to-Berrian seems like a regular thing... I would rather go 9-7 under T-Jack, than 11-5 under Favre. But on that note, I dont think we would be able to do that well with Favre. He has had super-duper athletic/experienced wide-outs to anchor down young wide-outs and they made plays for him. We dont quite have that. We have the super athletic, but experience isnt apparent.

Also, I've noticed out of Bollinger AND JD Booty an obvious nervousness. I expected it a little bit out of Booty, but not Bollinger. Whats the deal there?
